RESPIRO – ART IN THE AIR OF THE FOREST
a multidisciplinary art journey in the Monti Livornesi Natural Reserve
2026, earthwork by Isabel Rodriguez Ramos

CONCEPT
Respiro is a cultural welfare project. It promotes a deeper connection between people, nature, and creativity. Through artistic and participatory practices, the program encourages new perspectives on environmental responsibility, rural life, and sustainable cultural development. The forest becomes an open-air exhibition and a performative space where visitors can reconnect with the environment through art, sound, movement, and community.

ARTIST IN RESIDENCE
Since 2021, Respiro has hosted between 20 and 30 international artists each year in a co-creation residency rooted in the hinterland of Livorno, within the same natural reserve of the Monti Livornesi. The residency is dedicated to interdisciplinary artistic practices that are fluid, systemic, radical, and deeply rooted in the local ecological and cultural context.
